Aloe Vera

Aloe barbadensis — Leaf inner pulp

The inner pulp of Aloe Vera forms part of the botanical base of the liquid formulation.

Rasaunt / Daruharidra

Berberis aristata — Stem

A traditional stem botanical containing naturally occurring alkaloids and other phytochemicals.

Bhuiamla

Phyllanthus amarus — Whole plant

A traditional whole-plant botanical containing naturally occurring lignans, polyphenols and other phytochemicals.

Milk Thistle

Silybum marianum — Seed

A seed botanical containing naturally occurring flavonolignans and other plant compounds.

Bhringraj

Eclipta prostrata — Whole plant

A traditional whole-plant botanical containing naturally occurring coumestans, flavonoids and other phytochemicals.

Amla

Emblica officinalis — Fruit

A traditional fruit botanical containing naturally occurring polyphenolic compounds, tannins and other phytochemicals.

Manjistha

Rubia cordifolia — Stem

A traditional botanical containing naturally occurring anthraquinones and other phytochemicals.


WHY DIFFERENT PLANT PARTS?

Different parts of a plant can have different botanical compositions.

Stems, whole plants, seeds, fruits and inner leaf pulp may each contain their own characteristic naturally occurring plant compounds.

COREWAKER therefore uses selected plant parts according to the formulation specifications.

The botanical identity, plant part, extract specification and quantity are considered together as part of the formulation approach.

Milk Thistle — Silybum marianum

A narrative scientific review examined published preclinical and clinical research concerning silymarin, an extract obtained from Milk Thistle.

The review discusses the pharmacological characteristics of silymarin and published research involving its use in different liver-related settings. The authors note that much of the clinical research discussed in the review involved a particular silymarin formulation developed to improve oral bioavailability.

Rasaunt / Daruharidra — Berberis aristata

Selected constituent research: Berberine

Berberine is a naturally occurring isoquinoline alkaloid reported among the principal phytochemicals of Berberis aristata.

The publication referenced below investigated berberine as an individual compound rather than a Berberis aristata botanical extract.

Published preclinical research investigated berberine and silymarin, individually and in combination, in common carp exposed to acetaminophen following a dietary intervention.

The study evaluated selected serum biochemical markers, oxidative-stress markers and hepatopancreatic function.

Because this research investigated berberine as an individual constituent rather than a Berberis aristata stem preparation, the findings should be interpreted as constituent-level research and not as direct evidence for the Berberis aristata preparation used in COREWAKER.

Bhuiamla — Phyllanthus amarus

Published preclinical research investigated a standardized Phyllanthus amarus extract using both an animal model and a human hepatoma cell-line model.

The extract was standardized for phyllanthin content using chromatographic methods.

Researchers investigated the preparation in carbon-tetrachloride-induced liver-injury models using female mice in vivo and HepG2 cells in vitro.

The study evaluated liver-related biochemical parameters, oxidative-stress and antioxidant-defense measures together with cellular responses under the defined experimental conditions.

Bhringraj — Eclipta prostrata

Published preclinical research investigated an Eclipta alba preparation in adult Wistar rats exposed to a high-fat diet.

The study evaluated liver histology, including changes relating to fat deposition, inflammatory-cell infiltration, necrotic areas and hepatocyte structure following the experimental intervention.

The publication uses the botanical name Eclipta alba. In current botanical nomenclature, Eclipta alba is treated as a synonym of the accepted name Eclipta prostrata.

The publication itself contains differing descriptions of the plant part used for the preparation; therefore, this page does not attribute the study findings to a specific plant part.

Amla — Emblica officinalis

Manjistha — Rubia cordifolia

Published preclinical research investigated a standardized aqueous-ethanolic extract of Rubia cordifolia roots in adult female rats using a letrozole-induced polycystic ovarian syndrome research model.

The study primarily evaluated reproductive, hormonal and metabolic outcomes.

Selected liver-related assessments were also included, including hepatic oxidative status, lipid profile and liver-function markers.

The preparation investigated in this publication was derived from Rubia cordifolia roots, whereas the botanical preparation used in COREWAKER should be understood according to COREWAKER’s own formulation specification.
